HUMAN FACTORS INTEGRATION

Human Factors - Humanicks Consulting.jpg

Humans are infinitely variable, within reason. Humans perform better if they are given the tools and equipment that are tailored to their strengths and accommodate their weaknesses. Human Factors should never be tacked on the end of a design as by that time the potential for human error to occur is embedded in the design and sitting waiting for an event.

After creating Human Factors Integration Plans (HFIPs) for many industries Humanicks is well versed in creating tailored and pragmatic plans to include HF when and where it is needed. We get in early to provide the project with information about their users, this reduces uncertainty and gives the engineers clear user requirements to design to.

There are several different HFIP standards across the industries (e.g., JSP912, ISO 9241-210) and we can help guide clients as to which to use.

Typically, we can help with:

  • Writing the HFIP

  • Establishing the HF document suit to be produced

  • Establishing the user requirements and criteria for success

  • Writing the Target Audience Description

  • Establish user group representatives and elicit information

  • Creating and managing the Human Factors Issues Log, as evidence that all issues are addressed

  • Integrating Human Error Identification and Human Reliability Analysis into the Safety Case

  • Designing and running user trials

  • Conducting a Training Needs Analysis
